Research Engineer – Computer Vision – Disney Research Zurich

Disney Research Zürich is seeking applicants for a Research Engineer position specializing in Computer Vision to support our software engineering group.

The position will focus on supporting our Computer Vision research groups and related software engineering tasks. This includes areas such as 3D reconstruction, image and video processing, sensor fusion, optimization, device calibration and other algorithms within that field. Furthermore, a specific amount of time will be dedicated to other software engineering related responsibilities as well.

Typical responsibilities of a Research Engineer include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Drive value for Disney by developing production ready software tools
  • Support the research scientists in Computer Vision related projects

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ms. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent with focus on Computer Vision
  • Strong software development skills and experience in working with large software frameworks, in particular with focus on C++
  • Possess team player skills and be able to clearly communicate with technical and non-technical audiences

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with 3D reconstruction, sensor fusion, ROS
  • GPU programming experience
  • Expertise in numerical optimization
