Ali Israr is a Senior Research Engineer at Disney Research, working on several haptics related projects for entertainment, sports, and digital mediums. Before joining Disney, he was a postdoctoral associate at Rice Univerity, where he investigated internal sensory mechanisms for rehabilitation, training and skill acquisition. His expertise is haptics, haptic technology, and interfaces, human perception, psychophysics, and HCI. In addition, Ali has a good command in areas like mechatronics, machine design, and controls systems, and has published in Design, HCI, Robotics, Acoustics, and Haptics technical conferences. Ali received Masters (2004) and Doctoral (2007) degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, USA.
