He Wang is a Postdoctoral Associate with Disney Research. His primary research interest is understanding crowd behaviors and the underlying heterogeneous decision-making processes. Potential applications include crowd simulation, evaluation and control for games/animation/movies, VR and so on.
Before joining in Disney, he was with the Institute of Perception, Action, and Behavior, School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh, UK, where he received his Ph.D. in 2012 and did a short post-doc term afterward. He received his BEng. from Zhejiang University, China in 2005, after which he spent 4 years in the industry, first as a software engineer and architect then a co-founder of a company. Previously, his research had focused on motion planning and control involving deformable objects, scene analysis, data-driven animation and physical simulation. Later he had been focusing on leveraging machine learning for solving problems in graphics and robotics.
