Jill Lehman is a Senior Research Scientist who is broadly interested in understanding and accommodating human language behavior, particularly in human-computer and human-robot interaction. She has published for more than 30 years in the areas of natural-language processing, cognitive architecture, human-computer interaction, and autism and language. Jill spent 10 years as faculty in Carnegie Mellon’s School of Computer Science before moving to consulting, where she has worked with companies involved in on-line education (iCarnegie), cognitive tutoring (Carnegie Learning, Inc.), spoken language assessment (Carnegie Speech), and the application of cognitive science to language intervention (KidAccess, Inc.). Jill remains an Adjunct Professor in the Human Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon. The focus of her work at Disney Research is language-based interaction with children.
