Kartic Subr’s research focuses on the analysis and applications of stochastic sampling and signal processing techniques to problems involving numerical integration or signal reconstruction. He strives to harness the benefits of stochastic sampling for the acquisition, processing or synthesis of image, video and lightfields. Kartic obtained his Ph.D. on efficient sampling strategies for image synthesis in 2008 from University of California Irvine under the supervision of Prof. James Arvo. Since then, he has been a post-doctoral researcher at INRIA-Grenoble (2008-2010) and a Newton International Fellow (2011-2013) with an honorary appointment at University College London.
