Martin received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science from Brno University of Technology in Czech Republic. His Ph.D. at University of Surrey in UK was focused on facial performance capture (under supervision of Prof. Adrian Hilton). He continued as a postdoc on EU project SCENE where he mostly worked on general surface tracking for postproduction purposes. During this period, he spends almost a year as a visiting researcher at HHI, Fraunhofer in Germany (in the group of Prof. Peter Eisert). Afterwards, he joined Disney Research as a postdoc on TSB project Digital Acting where is involved in face performance capture and retargeting.
