Robert Bamler is a Post Doctoral Associate at Disney Research. Robert studied physics at Technical University of Munich, Germany, and at University of Granada, Spain. He did his Ph.D. in theoretical condensed matter physics at University of Cologne, Germany in 2016. Until February 2017, he was a Lab Associate at Disney Research.
Robert’s research interests are in the field of statistical machine learning and approximate Bayesian inference, with a focus on applications to natural language processing. Robert speaks three languages and is fascinated by the interdisciplinary aspect of machine learning, which brings together statistics, computer science, and domain knowledge such as linguistics.
